Cable Management

Good Cable Management

Optimum cable management not only helps keep your PC looking nice, but it also is essential for keeping it clean and running at peak performance.

Performance Enhancements

Unorganized cables can be harmful to the air-flow in your PC. By keeping your cables organized, you are enabling the maximum airflow and keeping all of your system components to stay as cool as possible. The other big plus from enabling air-flow is the minimization of dust collection in your pc. Anyone that's opened a manufactured PC case 2-3+ years after they bought it knows about all of the dirt and dust balls that can accumulate in a PC after awhile that dump out of the case like a used vacuum bag when they get the case panel off. It can get particularly bad in manufactured cases like these that are not well-circulated. By having a case that breathes, dust get exhausted much easier than it does in a standard case, with no real air-flow, it simply accumulates at the bottom of the case where it grows and grows until you finally open the case up and it explodes all over your face.

If you have IDE hard drives (ATA or P-ATA), you can get short and long tube-shaped IDE cables that support a much better air-flow than the typical ribbon IDE cables. Use them, they're not expensive!
